Kahlil Gibran's The Prophet

The ProphetThe Prophet by Kahlil Gibran
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

After years of procrastination, I was finally able to complete reading this masterpiece.. and realized what I had been missing all this while. The Prophet conveys in beautifully written prose the meaning of life and everything within.

It had everything that I had expected of the story, if you can call it a story: generous doses of philosophy, teachings of moral values and ethics, and sprinklings of faith and religion. I was hooked by the opening chapters, where the Prophet speaks of love and marriage, for what he said was something very close to what I had in my own heart.

I will certainly come back to this book many times in the future, to find solace in the poetic language, the deep thought and profound knowledge that it conveys.
